The 720S's design takes inspiration from the great white shark and features a teardrop-shaped cockpit. The 720S's rear end features thin LED taillights similar in design to those of the McLaren P1, an active aerodynamic rear wing, and two circular exhaust pipes. The butterfly doors feature air channels that direct air to the engine. The 720S features twin-hinged butterfly doors and many design features from the McLaren F1, while the 720S's headlights hide air vents that funnel incoming air to two small radiators sitting in front of the wheels.
